Great news! Our access points have achieved WiFi 6 Release 2 certification. After extensive laboratory testing by an independent entity, the IX450 and IX850 models and their derivatives such as the OX451 have been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance and are ready to offer our users the best connectivity experience possible today.
What new features and benefits does WiFi 6 Release 2 bring?
WiFi 6 Release 2 responds to the anticipated increase in the number of WiFi devices connected to the same network and the growing trend in demand for high quality multimedia content.
In order to ensure that the user experience is not affected by this situation, a highly reliable, consistent, high capacity, low latency and secure network is required.
Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6 Release 2 achieves this through the following new features:
- Faster uploads for streaming, where multiple user devices can simultaneously upload content to the Internet using UL-MU-MIMO uplink. This functionality is in addition to the already available MU-MIMO on downlink, and OFDMA on both uplink and downlink.
- Improved network access in the presence of narrowband interference.
- Extends battery life for devices, with improvements for low power consumption and sleep modes, including 3 power management functions (TWT – Target Wake Time).
- Expanded reach for IoT customers, offering greater coverage in high connection demand scenarios.
As specified in Release 2, these features can be applied to all bands that support WiFi 6 (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz). The benefits are capacity, efficiency, coverage and high performance for both enterprise and large public networks. At the same time, it is intended to promote interoperability between WiFi devices.
What does it mean for Galgus that our equipment is WiFi 6 Release 2 certified?
For us, having passed the WiFi 6 Release 2 certification tests is a very important step towards providing our customers and WiFi network users with the best connectivity experience, whatever the conditions in terms of connection density, physical environment, environmental or otherwise.
Furthermore, having this accreditation opens the door to being able to develop new projects and face new challenges in the future. And, of course, we will talk to you about each and every one of them when the time comes. In the meantime, stay tuned to this blog and our social media profiles – stay connected!
