A very well-known Spanish La Liga team, Real Betis Balompié, is using Galgus solutions to ensure WiFi connectivity in all its facilities. Galgus becomes an official sponsor of this worldwide famous football club which is quite a challenge for us since mass sports events are highly demanding environments for WiFi.
We have great news to share! We took one step forward in our purpose to make access to fast, robust, and secure internet. We have closed a sponsorship and collaboration agreement with Real Betis Balompié.
Galgus will deploy the WiFi technology and provide support for every network in the sport club facilities, which includes the Benito Villamarín stadium.
The relationship between Real Betis Balompié and Galgus started in the spring of 2019 before the Final match of the “Copa del Rey”, played at the Benito Villamarín stadium between Valencia C.F. and F.C. Barcelona. After testing with other international WiFi vendors that could not achieve adequate network quality, Real Betis Balompié contacted Galgus to provide a WiFi network for this event, quite a stress test for us.
It was not an easy task. To work in such a complex environment (football game) plenty of interference, users, traffic, noise, we had to create and improve several protocols and algorithms in our Cognitive Hotspot Technology (CHT). It was even more challenging because it was a “Copa del Rey” final match, and we must work on a stadium with a large capacity (60,721 people).
Despite all the difficulties, we performed with a high grade! Thanks to its performance, Galgus’ CHT proved to be the most robust, complete, and reliable solution in the market for this type of event.
CHT is based on collaborative optimization between the different access points that compose the WiFi infrastructure. Each access point analyzes its environment and shares the information collected so that the best automatic network control decisions are automatically made.
This guarantees that network control will be dynamically carried out, adjusting in real-time to the different issues that may arise. Thanks to it, critical bottlenecks, delays, and failures are avoided thanks to the access points “teamwork”, which are not competing but working in conjunction.
This sponsorship and support agreement between Galgus and Real Betis Balompié has been signed for two seasons, indicating a great leap to strengthen the relationship between both entities for upcoming years.
