Galgus has positioned itself as a fundamental player in the expansion of Spain’s largest public Wi-Fi network, deployed throughout Andalusia via the VUELA Plan. This ambitious project, presented during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, aims to provide internet access in public spaces throughout the community, including environments of significant historical and cultural value.
Thanks to our expertise in advanced AI-driven connectivity solutions and location data analytics, we have significantly contributed to the success of this deployment. Galgus’s Wi-Fi optimization technology enables the efficient management of thousands of access points, ensuring a stable, high-quality connection for citizens and visitors.
The project includes the installation of more than 27,000 access points in plazas, government buildings, museums, and other points of interest across the eight Andalusian provinces, connecting 3,100 administrative offices in 700 municipalities. This initiative not only facilitates internet access but also enhances the security and management capabilities of these spaces through the location analytics provided by Galgus.
This deployment is part of the VUELA Plan, an initiative that aims to drive the community’s digitalization through connectivity in strategic public spaces. With VUELA, Andalusia positions itself at the forefront of universal internet access, reducing the digital divide and promoting the adoption of advanced technologies in the management of urban and tourist spaces.
During its presentation by Antonio Sanz, the Minister of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue, and Administrative Simplification of the Regional Government of Andalusia, the capacity of the deployed Wi-Fi network to enhance user experience in high-traffic environments was highlighted, as well as its role in the digital transformation of key sectors such as tourism, education, and public administration.
With this deployment, Andalusia becomes a benchmark for public connectivity, facilitating access to digital services for citizens and enhancing the region’s tourist appeal.
