WIFI presence & Location analytics to monitor capacity and people flows
The Rota Town Hall was particularly interested in knowing through which entrances and streets citizens and tourists came down to the promenade, as well as the key hours.
In addition, they wanted to provide public Wi-Fi coverage for the entire area, so that users could enjoy an advanced connection even in a high-demand scenario.
In a second phase, there will be a captive portal, through which we will be able to promote local commerce. It will also be extended to other areas of the municipality.

Our solution, in addition to having different access points throughout the promenade so that you can enjoy a free, high-performance Wi-Fi connection, is equipped with Location and Presence Analytics technology.
It allows monitoring of people flows, capacity control and counting in different time windows, among other functionalities.
All this with maximum precision thanks to the fact that we generate a unique fingerprint (Galgus Fingerprint) for each device. This avoids distortions such as those caused by the randomisation of MAC addresses and the fact that identical devices are in the same area.
Key information for optimal management of public resources. For example, when allocating security forces, emergency services or taking traffic control measures.

The Rota Town Hall has been equipped with an online Control Panel, which is continuously updated and can be consulted from any PC, tablet or mobile phone.
It contains data such as the total count, in detail and by zones of people passing along the promenade.
This count can also be segmented by different time windows in order to identify patterns of behaviour.
Heat maps are generated showing the density of devices at any given time.
It is possible to monitor the capacity and trigger notifications if certain set values are exceeded.
This can also be used to comprehensively monitor the different movement patterns.
